In 2016 I was Demonstration Assistant at the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) to Patti Warashina and Lauren Grossman in Kansas City, Missouri. Working with and learning from them was career changing. They taught me how to work with stiff slabs and to build large and fast. I was a potter at the time and shortly after meeting them I was invited to an two week artist residency at Breck Create in Breckenridge, Colorado where I built Self Portrait of the Viewer.
